Berekely East: Vermonters Vote to Attract Mockery
It looks as if members of the Berkeley City Council have mailed care packages of their special brownies to voters in Vermont. The good citizens of two Vermont towns - Brattleboro and Marlboro - have voted to arrest President Bush and Vice President Cheney, for crimes against the Consititution. How pointed. How symbolic. How ridiculous. Just like the Berkeley council's declaration earlier this year, that the U.S. Marines are not welcome in the city. How should the Feds react to the Vermont Volley? Issue non-binding arrest warrants for all the voters, symbolically charging them with sedition and treason? Or should they just sit back, and let the press make fun of Vermont?
