If You Don't Love Your Country... Klavan Tells Truth About Hollywood

Every now and then I stumble upon an unexpected literarty gem that brings me both joy and misery: Joy, that a thoughtful, engaging writer has expressed a valuable truth; and misery, that I did not write the gem myself. Such was the case this weekend, when I opened my Sunday Washington Post and spotted Andrew Klavan's "5 Myths About Those Tinseltown Liberals." Seeings how it was the Post, I expected perfidy, so I kept an iron grip on my morning cuppa Lipton's and steeled myself to become indignant. Instead, I experienced the double delight of reading a spot-on essay and discovering a new favorite writer. In the Tinseltown essay, Klavan speaks the truth about anti-Americanism in Hollywood. Among other things, he declares: "If you don't love your country, you're not a patriot." Go ahead. Click the link. You'll be glad you did.

You know, maybe we "Patriots" should show Hollywood just what we think of them...

I suggest a boycott.

Stop going out to the movies. Don't rent DVD's or even buy them.
Ok, ok maybe disney movies for the kids. But until they get the message that we, the American buying public don't like them or their ideas of what they call entertainment, I say let's stay home and read...

You gotta hit em where it hurts the most, their pocketbook!

Ohhh, this makes me madder than a wet hen.
