Anniversary Tribute to Vietnam Veterans: Thank You, and Welcome Home!

On this day in 1973, the U.S. Congress officially ended combat and support operations in Vietnam. Those of us who never get tired of thanking the red-yellow-green-stripey troops recognize today as "Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day." If you haven't yet thanked our Vietnam boys for their service, today is a good time to start. How do you know them when you find them? The babies of the group will be around 55 years old. They'll be the ones who sometimes get that faraway look in their eyes, and who pause at the sound of rotors. Otherwise... you can always just ask.

Thank you, Vietnam vets. Welcome home. Others are saying that, too, including my Maple Syrup-swigging Aunty Brat. And now for a tribute. Turn up the sound!

Thank you, Susan. Have now added your link to mine..

And to ANY of our Vietnam veterans here: To me, every day is a good day to say THANK YOU to each of you, for your service.

God, were we ever that young? All I can say is, “Thanks, guys. You were awesome and you won the battles; Washington lost the war.” Welcome home!

I also posted and thanked the boys I went to high school with who made the journey.

Washington didn't lose the war -- they handed it to the North on a silver platter.

Thanks, kids, for not forgetting...

...as if that were even a possibility.

Nice information, many thanks to the author. It is incomprehensible to me now, but in general, the usefulness and significance is overwhelming. Thanks again and good luck!!!
