|BTM still lurking on my blog|
I have tried to reach him. I called Moynihan's legal office in D.C., and encountered only a tough-acting female gatekeeper who would not put me through to anyone. I tried the bank headquarters in Charlotte. The gatekeepers there would not connect me to the chief counsel. Nor to the comptroller, the director's suite, the p.r. office, nor anyone above the level of phone screener. So I emailed a list of questions for Moynihan. So far, he has not responded.
I'll wait him out just a bit longer. Meanwhile, here are some tidbits to pass the time.
In October 2009, serial troublemaker Julian Assange claimed that his minions at Wikileaks planned to publish the contents of a 5 gigabyte hard drive formerly used by a Bank of America executive.
In November 2010, Assange told Forbes magazine that he planned to reveal information that would turn a major US bank "inside out." Bank of America stock quickly dropped 3.2%.
Soon afterwards, it emerged that Bank of America had bought up more than 300 Internet domain names such as BrianMoynihanBlows.com and BrianMoynihanSucks.com, along with similar domains pegged to other top BofA executives' names. The bank did this is in order to pre-empt a run of Wikileaks-induced bad p.r.
I'd write more, but... again... I'd first like to hear from Brian T., pictured above. Mr. Moynihan: I emailed my list of questions. Would you please respond? I very much would appreciate it.
