Milspotters' Challenge: A Puzzling Out-of-Sandbox Image

This came from someone over at The Castle. Was it from .... John?* Or did Boq or Bill supply the puzzle? I'd tell you, but that might give it away too quickly. I'll drop a couple hints, though. 1) The pic did not arrive in this form. 2) The flush version can be found elsewhere on the web. 3) Think outside the sandbox. And... 4) The items were crafted by hand with great care, and are a head of their time. The truly dedicated among you will print this image, and commence cutting and puzzling. Or you could just wait for the explanation... which you must read after you set down the coffee cup.

*Yes, that is a hint - so to speak.

Not Vietnam. Wrong camo pattern.

It boggles the mind.

*gasp* Bill! You're sitting on it! But... but... it will melt!

Argent: Yes, quite! And in your neck of the woods, I think it boggles in a reverse direction from how minds boggle on this end. But now I'm plumbing metaphysics...

How crude.

THIS IS DAMN COOL! How the hell did you do that?

BillT said...

Yes, it *is* crude, Anon-B-Anon.

It looked much more realistic before the sun got to it...

Regular-plain Anon: Thank you. But no mystery. I got the pic, and turned it into a puzzle.

Anon-B-Anon: I thought crude was for oil. This is snow. So perhaps, "chill" would be more apropos-er...

I followed the breadcrumbs, snooped around a little, and came up with the original. Nice work, Bill. I am most amused. Good job on the puzzle, too, SKK.

*High five* to Feisty Dave! And a double-insulated polar fleece-gloved *high ten* to Bill for his most creative endeavor and artisty, the full version of which can be found here:
