I am so disappointed. Your copious, mewling apologies to those who intensely hate us clearly are insufficient. Haven't you noticed? The more you beg forgiveness, the more enraged they get. You should stop rolling us over to bare our throats to the enemy. Why not demonstrate real sincerity: send us in to attack ourselves! Show our violence-loving brothers* that we despise ourselves even more than they do, and that we are happy to join in the riots and death squads and attacks on our allies' grave sites.
*Notice I did not say "... and sisters," because we all know that in the Islamic world, women are caca. But, hey; that's cool. It's just their culture.

All Leaders should bare their own throats or those of their own children. A leader is someone who has walked that very same path earlier in his life. There is a difference between "Knowing about something" and "knowing something".

Grumpy, that's a huge part of the problem. The Leaders' kids are the children of privilege. They don't join the military - they go to private schools, and worry about such things as pink v. mauve accents in the living room. They never are at risk of personally having to shoulder the burden of Dadsy/Mumsy's decisions.
The only burn-barrels on most FOBs are those used for classified materials. Whoever was in charge of burning that material obviously *hasn't* been doing it properly, because Afghan civilians were poking around in it, looking for things that hadn't been completely burned.
Which raises two questions: first, why were Afghan civilians allowed in that area and second, what classified material had they found previously that led them to believe they'd find more of the same this time?
That said, the mood here about Brother Barry's Perpetual Apology Tour is one that does not bode well for the Dems receiving a single absentee ballot with an "x" in the D column come November...
Those are very important question, re the burning of classified materials. I haven't seen them raised anywhere else.
As for Brother Barry... we need to get this guy out of office pronto. It's reached the point where he doesn't even pretend to have our national interest at heart.
You guys are probably right in your criticisms of the way the President is deporting himslef re all of the apologizing, all things considered. All of the apologizing is not going to buy him much in the end.
Don't hold your breath about getting him out of office, however. He has a steadfast, guaranteed, large group of the electorate which will vote for no matter what he does, and the Republican opposition are making asses of themsleves on the national stage. You may think Gingrich is a neat, smart fellow, and he probably is, but Obama would rip him to shreds in a head to head election. Same for Santorum. Romney can't win, but at least he won't take others down with him if he as at the head of the ticket.

Obie is vulnerable on his record (what there is of it) both domestically and internationally, amd the Repubs need to hammer him on it. Granted, he has a hard core base who would vote for him even if he appeared in makeup and a tutu for a presser, but he's been steadily alienating everyone else except for his waytermelon constituents ("green on the outside, red on the inside") and union leaders, and *they* are the real 1%...
