I supposed it had to happen eventually, everybody has one in time. And I had mine yesterday....It’s funny how quickly you can go from “comfort zone” to “wrestling snakes” in this business. But even snake wrestling beats life in the cube, for me at least. In measured doses. [cont]
Less than a day after Lex posted that essay, his F-21 Kfir jet crashed near the west gate of Naval Air Station Fallon in Nevada. He died in the crash. Farewell to you, Lex. You made all of us more thoughtful and informed - and entertained. Thank you for your guidance. Forever skyborne... you have slipped the surly bonds of Earth, and reached out and touched the face of God. And now God has chosen to touch back, to hold on, and bring you home. RIP. And a moment of silence.

Neptunus Lex is cleared Fiddler's Green via Rainbow Bridge, then direct...
Navigator! Set a new course. First star to the right, and straight on 'till morning.
Gonna miss him. Yeah, gonna miss him.
This was nasty news to wake up to. I honestly feel ill about it.

My heart breaks for his family.
Beautiful words. I am still in shock. My prayers and condolences go out to his family. RIP, sir.
Terrible, terrible news. RIP sir.
I'm so sorry to hear about this loss. Thank you for sharing your beautiful words.
God bless you, sir. Say hello to those who went before you, and save a place for those of us who hope to meet you again in the halls of angels.
Such a tremendous loss. Shattering and sad beyond comprehension.
Godspeed, Captain.
Very sad news. You gave him a fitting sendoff.
Lex's Mission is complete, time to go home.
"O Humble Scribe," it is time to put down your pen and R.I.P. It is time to pray for his Family, who shared him with us. Many Thanks.
This hits really hard. He made this old blackshoe fell at home on a brownshoe blog.
"When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home."
Capt. LeFon, I didn’t know you personally, but I feel like I’ve lost a shipmate...
Lex...brother...from flight school in Meridian to Hornets in Lemoore to Readiness Team at CNAF. You will be sorely missed. Rest easy, Shipmate. VR Baron
RIP
